Assist. Prof. Ana Daneva Markova, MD, PhD, works at the perinatology department, Cyril and Methodius University School of Medicine, Skopje, North Macedonia. She is a founder of the Fetal Medicine Unit at the University Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Skopje, established in partnership with prof Kypros Nikolaides and the Fetal Medicine Foundation. She was a Vice Dean at the Medical Faculty of "Cyril and Methodius" University from 2020 to 2023, where she contributed to the advancement of curricula on Ob/Gyn. 

Her involvement in the development of the National Master Plan on Effective Perinatal Care with UNFPA and WHO led to significant decrease of maternal and newborn mortality in the country within a period of only one year. She was also a chair of Safe motherhood committee the perinatal and maternal audit review which contributes to improved quality of care.

Assoc. Prof. Daneva Markova was a member of the Board of World association of perinatal medicine from 2021 until 2023. And she is a member of several international associations and has contributed to several regional and global initiatives in SRH.
