Doctors and pharmacists who, in addition to their regular clinical practice, also perform research work, can take part in the prestigious International Medis Awards for Medical Research for the eleventh time. This year, the contest has been extended to Czechia and Slovakia – researchers from already eleven Central and Eastern European countries can participate. Outstanding achievements in nine areas are rewarded by an independent international committee of distinguished professors. Applications can be submitted HERE until 31 October 2024.

The aim of the Awards is to increase the recognition of the research work of doctors and pharmacists in the region and to encourage them and others to continue their research. With their work, they contribute to important innovations in medicine and pharmacy and thus enable more effective disease management.

Expansion of the Contest to 11 Countries and a New Field of Dermatology

The expansion of the territory enables doctors and pharmacists from Czechia and Slovakia to join the regional scientific community that we have been building for more than a decade with the International Medis Awards contest. At the same time, all researchers from the countries involved so far can gain an even better insight into research activities in Central Europe and present their achievements to an even wider international audience.

Researchers from Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia can participate.

Among the novelties is the field of dermatology, which replaces gastroenterology. Therefore, doctors and pharmacists from the fields of dermatology, gynecology, intensive care medicine and anesthesiology, neurology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, pharmacy, pulmonology and allergology, and rheumatology are invited to participate.
